PowSyBi Developer | Power System Software Engineer
How do you keep the Netherlands powered?
As a Power System Software Engineer, you will contribute to the enhancement of grid data exchange capabilities by extending and adapting the PowSyBl framework. Your work will ensure alignment with TenneT’s operational grid model and European data exchange standards.
You will collaborate remotely with the Operations team and the PowSyBl open-source community to design, develop, and deliver enhancements directly to the public PowSyBl repository. The team consistes of 6 people, who work fully remote. For this assignment you will need to bring your own device.
This assignment has an initial duration of approximately six months. A temporary extension may be considered if additional PowSyBl-related enhancement requirements arise.
Tasks
• Extend and adapt PowSyBl’s UCTE export capabilities
• Ensure alignment with operational grid models and European data exchange requirements
• Develop, test, and deliver enhancements to the public PowSyBl repository
• Collaborate with internal Operations teams and the PowSyBl open-source community
• Ensure high-quality, maintainable, and well-documented code delivery
• Support validation and integration of delivered functionalities
Requirements
• Strong experience with the PowSyBl codebase (Must have)
• Proven expertise in UCTE data models and export formats (Must have)
• Solid Java development skills
• Ability to quickly onboard and contribute in an existing codebase
• Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive mindset
• Experience working in distributed teams and open-source environments is a plus
• Fluent in English (must)
• Speaking Dutch and /or French is a big plus.
Additional Information
• This assignment is suitable for self-employed professionals (ZZP) or candidates operating as Director-Major Shareholder (DGA) through their own company
• Suppliers must be fully aware of and compliant with applicable labor laws, employment conditions, and the TenneT Collective Labor Agreement (CAO).
• This position is classified under Grade 8 of the TenneT CAO.

PLEASE NOTE: We no longer work with a ZZP Indirect construction within TenneT. This will be a fee-only construction where € 1,45 of the margin is retained from the supplier. After 1 year worked, the supplier will definitely leave out of the chain. So take this into account.
Screening
• Pre-employment screening is mandatory. Once the candidate is selected, the required screening documentation will be provided.
• The candidate may only start after successful completion of the screening process.
• A Certificate of Good Conduct (VOG) is part of the screening process via Magnit and must be completed prior to the start date.
• The candidate must possess a valid identification document (passport or ID card), which must be valid at both the intake and contract start date and available for verification.
Availability
The candidate must be available for the full duration of the requested assignment period.
