TenneT has started a journey to the public cloud. Modern, cloud native solutions based on public cloud technologies are key to support TenneT’s ambitions and responsibilities in the energy transition. We introduced the first landing zones and supporting services. Now, we will start moving applications from their current location in our data centre’s to the Public Cloud (Microsoft Azure). For this cloud journey we’ve engaged into a partnership with Capgemini, acting as Managed Cloud Provider (MCP) and supporting TenneT to build, design and maintain the Public Cloud environment. Our collaboration with MCP is designed to significantly enhance our IT infrastructure’s agility and resilience, positioning us at the vanguard of technological innovation and security advancements.

TenneT is running the MCP: Go cloud Program to establish the public cloud and execute migrations. In parallel, to ensure the successful ongoing support and provisioning of the MCP service to the TenneT organization, we are building a robust platform-organization. This team will be the driving force behind the Cloud Journey at TenneT for the coming years, leading the charge in enhancing efficiency and agility across our operations. By harnessing the expertise of the MCP, we’re looking to redefine the traditional IT delivery models, offering resources to end-users with unprecedented speed and advancing the resilience of our IT infrastructure with the latest in security and technology.

Your position requires close collaboration with the MCP: Go Cloud Program, aligning departmental objectives with the broader strategic goals of the organization and ensuring a seamless integration of cloud technologies into our infrastructure landscape. This role not only offers the chance to lead in a highly dynamic and critical area of our business but also to work within a team that’s at the cutting edge of energy and technology.
What can you expect, and what do we expect?
To manage cloud operations and oversee strategic development, TenneT is seeking a Lead Cloud and Service Manager with a visionary approach to accountable leadership. In this strategic role, you are accountable for the Public Cloud services provided by the MCP Platform Team and for the Service Management processes of the whole Infrastructure, Integration and Cloud Services proposition.

You lead the team that ensures the MCP services are seamlessly integrated with TenneT’s Business Technology Operations (BTO OPS) and correctly positioned within the organization’s broader strategy. The platform team responsible is an interdisciplinary team consisting of experts such as a Platform Owner, Cloud Architects and Demand Managers. It’s a dynamic and international team working both from Arnhem, the Netherlands, and Bayreuth, Germany.
The IT Service Management accountability consists of leading five service manager that ensure both on-prem and public cloud processes are aligned, that SLA’s are in place for all services in scope and that service delivery is realized by the teams within the boundaries of these SLA’s.
As the hierarchical lead, you will spearhead team development, shape HR strategies, and act as Senior Supplier in the Program Board throughout the MCP implementation. Your mission will be to harmonize a range of services from multiple providers, fostering a cohesive and business-aligned IT environment that delivers a superior end-user experience.

Profile
Must-Have Capacities
• Proven leadership in cloud transformation programs within large, complex organizations.
• Experience building governance structures that reduce political friction and enable delivery.
• Ability to define and implement operating models, cloud concepts, and adoption strategies.
• Strong servant leadership style: empowering teams, fostering accountability, and building trust.
• Proven track record in creating high performant teams and hiring great talent.
• Ability to manage internal stakeholders and build constructive relationships with external partners.

Should-Have Capacities
• Familiarity with vendor management in a managed service context.
• Experience with OKR/KPI-driven performance management.
• Understanding of data and AI-driven IT strategies.
• Ability to operate effectively in a European/international context.

Practical information:
• VOG must be received before a candidate can start;
• A Pre Employment Screening (PES) is carried out as standard upon commencement of employment;
• The place of employment is Arnhem (at least 2 or 3 day a week, at the beginning you may be asked to be more present at the office in Arnhem). Other days hybrid, where the candidate also has the opportunity to work at a regional office or from home. Wednesday is required to be onsite.
• Reason for request: replacement request;

• A maximum of two interviews are held for the position.

• Suppliers of candidates must be aware of the applicable laws and regulations in the field of employment conditions and the (TenneT) collective labor agreement. This commitment falls within scale 9 of the TenneT collective labor agreement;

Screening:
• Pre-employment screening: If the candidate is allowed to start at the client, a pre-employment screening will take place. We will then send you the necessary documents. Your candidate may only start after completing the pre-employment screening. The VOG application is part of the screening from Magnit, the VOG must be received before the candidate can start;
