As a leading European Transmission System Operator (TSO), we design, build, maintain and operate high-voltage electricity grids in the Netherlands and large parts of Germany. With approximately 23,500 kilometers of high-voltage connections on land and at sea, and nearly 5,000 employees, we supply electricity to over 42 million end users every day. With many innovative projects planned now and in the coming years, we are continuously looking for driven professionals to strengthen our team.
As a Risk Advisor , you will play a key role in identifying, analyzing, and monitoring risks while providing expert advice to support decision-making. You will contribute both at project level and at a broader enterprise risk management level. Due to the absence of one of the teammembers there is an urgent need for operational support.
You will be part of the Risk & Internal Control team and work closely with 3 colleagues within the team of in totall 6 co-workers. You report to the Lead Project Risk Management AC.
About Risk & Internal Control (ARN)
The Risk & Internal Control (ARN) plays a crucial role in the strategic and operational steering of TenneT. The team provides advice and support on:
• Strategic, operational, and financial planning
• Forecasting and performance monitoring
• Financial health and transparency
• Defining and tracking (financial) targets
ARN challenges the organization, monitors performance, and drives continuous improvement. By working closely with other departments, ARN ensures that TenneT achieves its long-term goals, manages risks effectively, and optimizes performance.
Your Responsibilities
Risk Advisor
• Act as a risk advisor (all genders) by identifying, analyzing, and monitoring strategic, financial, operational, compliance, and sustainability risks
• Ensure that TenneT’s enterprise risk management framework is maintained and further developed
• Translate and apply risk policies and frameworks to divisional contexts
• Provide expert advice and recommendations on risk mitigation measures
• Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders at operational level
• Organize workshops, training sessions, and presentations on risk management
• Support in drafting risk reports and contributing to external publications
Your Profile
• Academic degree (Bachelor’s or Master’s) in Business Administration, Economics, Engineering, or a related field or HBO+ with working experience
• Minimum 3+ years of experience in (project) risk management, preferably in complex infrastructure projects (the field energy is a big plus)
• Strong experience in risk advisory and stakeholder management
• Experience with probabilistic risk analysis is preferred
• Excellent analytical, communication, reporting, and presentation skills
• Ability to work independently and take a critical, objective stance
• Strong persuasive and stakeholder management skills
• Fluent in English (Dutch is a plus)
Important Context
Focus is on improving predictability through risk management and probabilistic analysis
Candidates must have hands-on project risk experience in infrastructure sectors (e.g., contractors, engineering firms, public works organizations).
Practical Information
• Location: Arnhem (max 2 day/week) on monday and/or Tuesday , otherwise hybrid
• Working hours: 24–40 hours per week (flexible)
• Maximum 2 interview rounds (lead + team member)
Additional information
• The assignment falls within a TenneT CAO scale 9
